Dr Tabitha Chng
B.D.S. (Singapore), F.A.M (Singapore),
MSc Paediatric Dentistry (Toronto), FRCD (Canada)
Diplomate, American Board of Paediatric Dentistry
Dr Chng is a double Board Certified Paediatric Dentist. Valedictorian of her graduating class at the National University of Singapore, she was twice placed on the Dean’s List and picked up numerous University Medals. Quick to identify her love for working with children, she pursued a diploma in Child Psychology after graduation which cemented her life-long decision to serve the paediatric population.
Receiving a scholarship from the Ministry of Health, she furthered her training at the University of Toronto, Canada where she received the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award and was awarded the Dr Keith Titley Paediatric Dental Graduate Training Scholarship. She is currently the only paediatric dentist in Singapore to be dually Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr Chng loves to see children smile and constantly strives to create a safe and relaxed environment for kids to enjoy their visits. She particularly enjoys guiding anxious children towards developing an excitement for their dental visits. Besides fighting cavities, she has a special interest in paediatric sleep medicine (eg. tooth grinding, snoring) and early management of crooked teeth without braces.
With a love for learning, she has completed a certificate in nutrition and has now set her sights on completing a second Masters in Sleep Medicine — all this while fretting over Mandarin for her two lovable children and hoping PSLE will be scrapped by the time they are of age.
Dr Pauline Lee Shih Jia
B.D.S. (Singapore),
MSc (Craniofacial Science) (UBC),
Dip (Paediatric Dentistry) (UBC)
Dr Lee graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2014, and in a stroke of serendipity, got to work as a dental officer in Paediatric Dentistry at the National Dental Centre Singapore. During her time working with the team there (including Dr Chng!), she was inspired to venture out and pursue her specialty training at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver. There, she honed her aptitude for working with children and was selected as chief resident in her final year, graduating with a Combined Master of Science in Craniofacial Science and Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry in 2020.
Dr Lee believes that children are capable of so much, and finds joy in helping her patients (and their parents!) navigate a potentially stressful dental environment. She prides herself in being open, non-judgemental, and empathetic, so there is always a safe place to share any worries or anxieties.
Her UBC training was well-rounded and she is experienced with hospital dentistry, children with special needs and interceptive orthodontics; Dr lee also has special interest in non-pharmacological methods of behavioural management.
In her free time, Dr Lee loves exploring, trying exotic foods, and skiing -- anything to satisfy her inner child and sense of adventure!
Dr Tan Wee Kiat
B.D.S. (Singapore),
MSc (University of London)
Dr Tan is a Malaysian. She came to Singapore at the age of 18 to interview for a Singapore Merit Scholarship. The panel gave her a scholarship in Medicine. She rejected it. Fortunately, the panel liked her spunk and offered her Dentistry instead.
The rest is history. The same spunk continues throughout her career. Pioneering as the 1st paediatric dentist in Public Service, she won a Ministry of Health scholarship to study Advanced Paediatric Dentistry at New York University, becoming the 1st to be trained both sides of the Atlantic. She is a recipient of the 2010 Long Service Award and Golden Anchor Award for pioneering service.
Dentistry is but a facet of her life. In her free time, she is a writer, poet, artist, drummer and aspiring actor.
